Prints range in sizes from 9.5ā€ x 6ā€ to 11.25ā€ x 8.5ā€. The Tyler and Monroe prints are from original paintings by Chappel and were printed by Johnson, Fry & Co., Publishers. The Polk print was copyrighted by James D. Richardson in 1899. Van Buren’s print includes a small image beneath his portrait of the ā€œDestruction of the Carolineā€, done by H. Inman and T.W. Hunt. Finally, Theodore Roosevelt’s print is actually a copy of a photograph. Some of the prints have age toning as well as edge-chipping. Lot sold ā€œas is.ā€ (5 prints).
